20 Farm Animal Crafts and Cute Farm-Themed Ideas

Looking for farm animal crafts with cute little faces and plenty of color? These pigs, cows, chickens and sheep give you lots to choose from.

There are handprint animals, smiling puppets and even a few barn, tractor and corn ideas to go alongside them.

You can keep things simple or add bows, spots and curly tails. If you’re looking for farm crafts preschool kids can try with your help, start with the larger shapes.

Have an adult handle tricky cutting and supervise small decorations.

Cute animal crafts and farmyard ideas to try

pink pig with a bow

We’re starting off strong with this adorable plate-shaped pig. I love the pink cheeks and oversized ears.

That little bow above one eye makes it even cuter.

For your version, keep the big oval snout and black hoof shapes. Don’t forget a little curled tail peeking out at the side.

round sheep with rosy cheeks

How cute is this sheep? The white puffs surround a long black face, with wide ears sticking out on either side. Those pink cheeks are my favorite part.

Try keeping the face details just as simple, with two eyes and a tiny white mouth.

handprint chicken pair

These little chickens look like they’ve met for a snack, haha! The white handprints face each other, with yellow beaks pointing toward the scattered kernels.

If you want to try a similar picture, use the fingers for the tail feathers. Draw the food as little yellow dots if you’d rather skip loose pieces.

spotted tube cow

This cow may just be one of my favorites here. I love the curled white ears and tiny smile on the pink muzzle.

The black patches continue around its open-topped body.

Keep your cow’s spots different sizes if you want to follow this look.

horse with a brown fringe

If you are looking for a face built from simple shapes, this one is for you. The tall rectangular base has a big pale pink muzzle, long oval eyes and pointed ears.

That jagged brown fringe across the forehead is such a cute detail. I’d keep it when making your own horse.

white rooster with a red comb

I am obsessed with this rooster’s wild outline. The white feather shapes spread out in every direction, with a bright red comb above the eyes and a long yellow beak.

The oversized yellow feet make it even better. There’s no need to make your version perfectly symmetrical.

little yellow chicks

How sweet is this little group? The yellow chicks sit below a nest filled with pale eggs.

Their orange beaks and tiny dark eyes give each one a slightly different expression.

For a display of your own, arrange a few chicks around a drawn nest instead.

triangle pig and cow

Who knew triangle faces could look this cute? The pink pig points upward while the spotted cow points down toward its big pink muzzle.

I love how they use the same basic shape but look so different. Try the cow’s wide ears and little tan horns if you want to make the pair.

pink pig with tiny hooves

OMG, how adorable is this pig? The round pink head sits above a smaller body, with black eyes, pointed ears and little black hooves.

That tiny red tongue below the snout is worth keeping. It gives the face such a funny little expression.

footprint horse face

This is such a cute way to turn a footprint into an animal. The toes sit at the top of the horse’s head while the heel becomes its long muzzle.

I especially love the dark mane running down one side. For your own picture, add a little pale marking between the eyes like this one.

yellow ducks with hand-shaped tails

Look at this whole flock of ducks! Each one has a curved white body decorated in yellow, an orange bill and a hand-shaped tail.

The different tail angles are so cute together. You could arrange your own flock on a display board, leaving room for every duck’s outstretched fingers.

smiling cup cow

If you love a big silly smile, this cow is for you. Its oversized pink muzzle sits above an upside-down white cup with scattered black spots.

The wide ears and little pointed horns finish the face. I’d keep that scalloped black fringe at the top too.

rooster with rainbow curls

This rooster’s tail is my favorite part! The tall loops switch between green, purple, yellow, orange and red above a black-and-white body.

For your version, let the curls be different heights rather than lining them up evenly. The red comb and yellow beak are lovely little finishing touches.

yellow handprint duck

Don’t want lots of separate decorations? No problem!

This yellow duck keeps things simple with a hand-shaped body, an orange bill and two orange legs.

The fingers fan out behind it like a tail. A single dark eye is all this little face needs.

farmyard stick puppets

I love this little puppet group, especially the yellow chick peeking out of its cracked white shell. There’s also a brown dog, a spotted cow and a white chicken with bright yellow feet.

Choose your favorite animal to start with. You could make a few more afterward for a little farmyard puppet show.

b is for barn

Here’s a farm-themed extra rather than an animal: a big red B turned into a barn. The dark roof and white crossed door make the idea clear without covering up the letter.

I love the little yellow hay shape in the upper window. You could display this beside your animal crafts.

green tractors with yellow wheels

These tractors are another non-animal addition to the farmyard. The green bodies have pale rectangular windows, tall gray exhaust shapes and wheels with yellow centers.

Keep the back wheel bigger than the front one if you’re trying this design. That little difference is worth copying.

muddy pink pigs

Looks like these pigs found the mud, lol! The brown marks cover parts of their pink faces and bodies, but you can still see those big open smiles.

Try adding uneven brown paint patches to your own pig cutouts. The little spiral tails are too cute to leave out.

corn roller painting

Want a farm-themed painting idea to go with the animals? This picture shows a corn cob being rolled across a white cutout, leaving rows of yellow and orange marks.

I love the dotted pattern it creates. For your own activity, use child-safe paint and adult supervision, then keep the painted corn separate from food.

smiling sheep mask

Last but definitely not least, we have this sweet sheep mask. The long ears frame a smiling face, with round eye openings and white puffs across the forehead.

The handle underneath lets you hold it up. You could add pale pink cheeks to your own version or keep the simple black-and-white face.
