Looking for vintage wood tray decor with a little personality? Think leafy pitchers, little houses or a bowl filled with pastel eggs.
These pictures include tray arrangements plus a few basket, board and tabletop displays, so not every idea starts with a wooden tray.
You can keep things simple or bring out your seasonal decorations. Start with a piece you love, then add a few smaller details around it.
For arrangements with books or greenery, I’d choose flameless candles.
Tray and tabletop ideas worth saving
cream candles and white berries
We’re starting off strong with this long, shallow tray and its chunky candleholders. I love the little white berries tucked into the greenery.
The stems spill over the edges instead of sitting neatly inside.
Try three cream flameless candles to follow this look on your console table.
a basket full of books
How cute is this reading corner? The books stand inside a brown handled basket beside the chair, with another book lying on the table.
This picture uses a basket rather than a tray. If you want to borrow the idea for a tray, lay a few books flat and keep the candle flameless.
layered boards and a little cloche
I am obsessed with the oversized boards behind this little pedestal display. The round board sits in front of the rectangular one, with a wire cloche and bread-shaped pieces below.
There isn’t a tray here, but the layered backdrop is worth saving. Try standing your boards behind a low tray if you want a similar kitchen arrangement.
pumpkins and orange leaves
This fall arrangement may just be one of my favorites. I love the cream and brown braided-looking pumpkins surrounded by smaller orange ones.
Start with your larger decorations in the middle of a long bowl. Then tuck orange and yellow leaves around the edges to follow this full, leafy look.

a white pitcher and little hen
How adorable is that little white hen? It sits on a stack of plates beside a tall white pitcher filled with green stems and tiny yellow flowers.

The round tray also holds a dark open basket and two shakers. Keep your plates toward the front if you want to borrow this kitchen-counter arrangement.
a floral utensil pitcher
If you are looking for a pretty way to group your kitchen pieces, this one is for you. The leafy pitcher holds spoons and a whisk, with pour bottles tucked behind it.
The little white bird and tied heart are my favorite details. Add a small decoration beside your everyday pieces rather than filling the whole tray with ornaments.
a drawer of leafy jars
Don’t want to use a regular tray? This drawer-style box is a lovely alternative.
Clear jars filled with green leaves and pale sprigs sit inside it beside a large dial scale.
I especially love the decorative pull on the front. The spools resting on the scale add another unusual little detail.
little houses on green
I am obsessed with these little houses. The heart cutouts are so cute, plus the glowing windows look lovely above the berry-covered greenery.
The distressed green tray has large black handles and plenty of room for a small potted plant. Try battery lights through the greenery if you want that extra glow.
blue jars and big tassels
The blue, gray and white pairing is so pretty in this arrangement. Four painted jars line the back of the round tray, with a HOME sign sitting in front.
Drape a bead garland across your jars to try the same look. I’d keep the oversized tassels resting at the front, just like these.
pink flowers and a patterned box
This little patterned box may be my favorite detail here. Its blue and pink design looks so pretty beside the pale pink flowers.

A stack of large books fills one side of the rectangular tray. Try placing a small decorative box on top instead of adding another vase.
books tied with a bow
I love this stack of worn-looking books with its oversized bow. The muted green covers look gorgeous beside the faded flower heads.
This is a tabletop display rather than a visible tray arrangement. Borrow the tied-book detail for your own tray, but replace the lit candle on the books with a flameless one.

an oval floral tray
Don’t want to fill your tray with decorations? No problem! This oval tray is displayed upright, so you can see the whole floral design.
The pink, yellow and red flowers look lovely against the dark background. I’d use a suitable display stand to show off a patterned tray like this.
tiny trays with tall candles
These little handled trays give you a different way to decorate with candles. Each one holds a tall taper-style light above dark red and brown filler, with small star shapes mixed in.
Try a pair of flameless tapers if you want to recreate the arrangement. The dark holders look especially pretty against the pale candle shapes.
a vanity tray with gold accents
If you want your everyday things to look a little prettier together, save this one. The rounded tray holds bottles, a lidded jar and a tall vase of leafy stems.
That little scalloped jewelry dish is such a cute addition. Give your rings a dish of their own rather than scattering them across the tray.
a little bird above the books
How sweet is this little bird perched on a stack of books? I love the trailing greenery spilling over the side beside it.
The container has tall, open slatted sides rather than the look of a shallow wooden tray. If you prefer a low tray, you can still borrow the book stack, bird and trailing plant combination.
three candles and black handles
This is another pretty candle arrangement, but the base is flat and rectangular rather than bowl-shaped. The black handles are my favorite part.
Three cream pillars sit in a row with rounded green leaves around them. Choose flameless pillars for your version so the greenery can stay close without an open flame.
a narrow tray for fall
I love how this long, narrow tray mixes orange pumpkins with little pots of greenery. The striped pillar candle and dark reflective holder give you something different between the plants.
Try lining up your decorations in a narrow tray instead of gathering everything in the middle. Leave the taller pieces toward the back if you want a clearer view from your sofa.
faded flowers and little walnuts
The faded pink and tan flowers are so pretty in this shallow bowl. Look a little closer and you’ll spot walnuts tucked beside the candle holder.

I’d keep those small details when recreating this arrangement. Use a flameless candle inside a clear holder, especially with loose foliage nearby.
scalloped edges and a tiny lamp
If you love a decorated kitchen corner, this one gives you plenty to work with. There’s a little lamp, a green floral planter and a framed landscape sitting on a raised scalloped base.
The matching scalloped boards behind them are gorgeous. Try a small framed picture alongside your kitchen pieces if you want something besides another jar or pitcher.

a bunny and pastel eggs
Last but definitely not least, we have this adorable Easter bowl. I am obsessed with the tall white bunny and its pink ears!
The yellow chick and pastel eggs make the arrangement even sweeter.
Nestle your decorations into loose decorative filler to follow this look. A small illustrated book at the back is a lovely detail worth keeping.
