Looking for christmas table decor with a little something extra? Red bows, shiny ornaments and tiny snowy houses give you plenty to work with.
These pictures include dining table arrangements plus smaller displays for your coffee table, console or side table.
You can keep things simple or go all out with a miniature village. There are a few starting-point ideas here too, plus one autumn setting with colors you could borrow for Christmas.
Christmas table ideas worth saving
a simple greenery base
Start with the greenery! This picture shows branches being arranged along a bare tabletop, with different shades of green overlapping through the middle.
It’s a starting point rather than a finished centerpiece. For your own table, you could follow that long, narrow shape and leave the branch tips loose at either end.
red candles and orange slices
I love these red tapers with the orange slices tucked into the greenery. The oversized gold-colored bells are such a pretty extra detail, especially with those chunky looped handles.
Keep your place settings simple with white plates and clear drinking glasses. If you use real candles, leave plenty of clearance between the flames and decorations.

little houses and red baubles
How adorable are these little houses? The red roofs match the big baubles grouped around the clear lidded jar.
There’s even a glittery ornament beside the snowy-looking rooftops.
Try grouping your own miniature houses toward the front of a round tray so they don’t disappear behind the greenery.
plaid with blue and white
This plaid table may just be one of my favorites here. I love the red runner and matching napkins beside the blue-and-white patterned jar.
The greenery sits in plaid containers too. If you want to follow this look, start with the runner and napkins before deciding whether you want that extra bit of pattern.
berries and pillar candles
If you love lots of little details, this one is for you. Red berry sprays, tiny white clusters and dark pinecones fill the long centerpiece around cream pillar candles.
I’d choose flameless pillars for a similarly packed arrangement so the branches can stay clear of any open flame.
an empty bowl to build on
Don’t have your centerpiece planned yet? This picture shows the starting piece: a long, shallow brown bowl with an uneven rim.
The finished display isn’t visible here.
For your own version, you could fill a similar bowl with small ornaments and greenery or use it as a base for miniature trees.
silver trees and white berries
Calling all sparkle fans! These tall silver-colored cone trees look so pretty beside the white plates and little reindeer figures.
My favorite details are right at the place setting: a decorated bauble, a tree-shaped napkin accent and a script cutout across the plate. You could borrow just one of those if the full table feels like too much.

a glowing little house
How cute is this little house with its glowing windows? It sits on a round woven-look tray with pinecones, greenery and a candle in a clear holder.
This is a lovely smaller display for a coffee table. I’d use an LED candle if recreating that close grouping of branches and pinecones.
oversized ornaments and tiny lights
You don’t have to save all your big ornaments for the tree. This shallow oval bowl holds oversized silver-colored baubles with a mix of ribbed and reflective finishes.
I love the tiny lights running through the greenery. Let a few branches extend beyond the bowl if you want to follow the same loose shape.
lanterns in a snowy tray
These dark lanterns look gorgeous against the white-dusted greenery. The tallest one sits toward the back, with smaller lanterns grouped in front and beside it.
Red berries and pinecones fill the tray around them. For your own arrangement, choose LED candles to keep the glow without an open flame near the decorations.
bow holders and black reindeer
Those bow-shaped candleholders are so pretty! Burgundy tapers sit beside a matching little tree, while two slender black reindeer stand at the other end of this console.
The tall vase of greenery fills the left side. You could borrow the reindeer and bow holders for a dining table without bringing over the whole console arrangement.
bark-edged rounds and berries
Don’t want to go overboard with ornaments? No problem!
This setting keeps things simple with bark-edged rounds, green sprigs and little red berry clusters along a tan runner.
I like that the top of the front round is left empty. You don’t have to cover every part of your centerpiece.
long burgundy bows
I am obsessed with these burgundy bows. The long tails reach the tabletop around the gold-colored candleholders, with plain white tapers above.
This little side table doesn’t need much else. Keep the tapers unlit as shown, or choose flameless ones if you want to keep ribbon tied around the holders.
nutcrackers and red roses
If you love a traditional Christmas display, take a look at these nutcrackers. Their red, black and gold-colored details look so good beside the deep red roses.
The large white vase holds greenery and berry accents too. For a smaller tabletop version, try one nutcracker next to a shorter flower arrangement.
silver baubles with pale bows
This is another pretty way to use oversized ornaments. I love the pale bows tied to the silver-colored baubles, especially with the ribbon tails draped across the greenery.

The white bowl and scattered pinecones keep the rest simple. I’d leave this one just like this.
a tiny snowy village
How adorable is that little snowman? A glowing miniature building sits among snowy trees and deer figures on a round bark-edged base.
There’s so much to look at, but the plain white place settings let the village have its moment. Try mixing taller trees at the back with tiny ones around the front.
a plaid bow and golden deer
If you want to go all out, this display gives you plenty of ideas. Light-covered branches rise from a large pale vase with a red plaid bow tied around its neck.
I especially love the standing and seated gold-colored deer on the tray. Little red, white and gold-colored trees fill the spaces around them.
burgundy candleholders with autumn accents
Love burgundy? The tall candleholders and matching napkins are worth a look.
This picture is an autumn setting rather than a Christmas one, with pumpkins, corn and fall leaves beneath white tapers.
For a Christmas adaptation, you could keep the burgundy pieces and replace the harvest decorations with evergreen sprigs and ornaments.
colorful trees and golden bells
These little green trees are just too cute. One has colorful bulb-shaped decorations, while the smaller tree-shaped piece has a red handle and striped spout.
Gold-colored bells and a pale vase of greenery sit behind them on a patterned-edge tray. This counter display has plenty of details you could borrow for a side table.
orange slices ready to arrange
Last but definitely not least, we have a plate piled with dried orange slices. Greenery, red berries and a blue ribbon sit behind it, though a finished centerpiece isn’t shown.
Try tucking a few slices into a garland like the one earlier in this list. That orange color looks so pretty beside deep green.
