Santa Barbara Style Home Ideas to Save

white walls and a little balcony

We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous white exterior. I love the arched entrance beside the tall windows, plus that little black-railed balcony above the garage.

If you want to borrow a smaller detail, try grouping orange-brown pots beside your front door. The peach cushions on the patio are another pretty touch.

an arched garden gate

How beautiful is this gate? The dark brown panels and little black studs give you plenty to look at before you even step inside.

Try tall planters on either side of your entrance to follow this look. I’d keep the lanterns too.

a blue patterned fountain

I am obsessed with this courtyard fountain. The blue floral patterns are so pretty against the reddish paving, with an arched gateway just behind it.

The matching pots beside the gate are worth saving as an idea all on their own. You don’t need a fountain to try that part.

scrollwork and golden walls

This little balcony may just be one of my favorite exterior details here. I love the curls along the black railing and the pink flowers tucked behind it.

The golden-yellow wall gives you a lovely alternative to white.

blue and yellow stair risers

Who says every stair has to look the same? These risers mix blue, yellow and white patterns beneath dark stair treads.

If you’re planning a similar look, choose different patterns with the same few colors. Keep the railing simple like the black one here.

cream seating and open arches

Don’t want to go all out with color? No problem! This living area sticks to cream, tan and brown, with greenery dotted around the room.

I especially love the low console behind the sofa. Try a small plant and a stack of books on yours rather than filling the whole top.

a fountain between garden beds

This is another beautiful courtyard, but it’s a little different from the patterned one above. A square fountain sits between low planting beds, with a black gate at the end of the path.

The tall, narrow trees behind the white walls are my favorite part. There’s so much greenery without hiding the entrance.

blue patterns in the kitchen

If you love a kitchen with lots of detail, then this one is for you. There are blue-edged counters, carved cabinet fronts and a big patterned panel above the range.

I am in love with the dusty rose range beside all that blue. For a smaller nod to this look, try displaying blue-and-white plates on an open shelf.

arched doors with a leafy view

These tall arched doors are too pretty not to save. I love the curved divisions near the top and all the greenery you can see through them.

With a view like this, I’d keep nearby decorations fairly simple.

bright pink flowers over the door

How gorgeous is this entrance?! Bright pink flowers spread above the rounded brown doors and trail across the white wall.

The orange flowers below the window make it even prettier. If you want to try that color pairing, start with pink and orange blooms in pots beside your own doorway.

green seating and yellow pillows

This living room may just be my favorite color combination so far. I love the green seating with those golden-yellow pillows, plus the floral cushions on the white sofa.

Try picking your pillow colors from a piece of art you already have. The green and yellow picture here gives you a lovely example.

dining beneath wide arches

A chandelier over an outdoor dining table? Yes, please!

This covered space pairs a pale table and chairs with green cabinets along the back wall.

The broad white arches are gorgeous with the dark ceiling beams. If you’re furnishing a similar area, I’d leave the tabletop mostly clear like this.

bookshelves beside the fireplace

If you’re looking for a reading-room idea, save this one. Bookshelves flank a pale fireplace, with a framed picture above the chunky brown mantel.

I love the lantern-style lights on either side. The patterned rug and red accent pillow bring in just enough color for me.

a copper-colored tub and greenery

I am obsessed with this bathroom. That shiny copper-colored tub looks so pretty beneath the arched window, especially with the big leafy plants beside it.

For a smaller change, try a basket of rolled towels near your bath. The little striped rugs are another detail worth borrowing.

black window frames and lanterns

Don’t want to add lots of exterior decoration? This courtyard keeps things simple with white walls, tall black-framed windows and a row of hanging wall lanterns.

I love the pale chairs tucked beside the arches.

a pool with a patterned backdrop

The blue-pattern fans are going to love this! A colorful arched panel sits above the pool’s waterfall, with dark blue squares running across the wall below.

There’s another patterned band along the front edge of the pool. I’d borrow the blue and orange-brown color pairing for pots if a pool project isn’t on your list.

bedroom arches and a patterned rug

How lovely are those little arches behind the bed? The center one rises above the others, with pale bedding and matching bedside lamps below.

The large peach-toned rug is my favorite finishing touch. Try a patterned rug with plain bedding if you want a similar mix.

yellow fruit and pink flowers

This little balcony is just too pretty. I love the yellow fruit on the potted tree beside the bright pink climbing flowers.

A glowing lantern sits between the dark arched doors. If you’re choosing pots for a similar space, try mixing one patterned pot with a plain orange-brown one like these.

a small entrance beneath big trees

You don’t need a huge facade for a beautiful entrance. This one has a rounded brown door, narrow windows with decorative grilles and a lantern on either side.

The little seat and pale planter keep the porch decoration simple. I’d leave those windows uncovered by extra decor so you can enjoy all the scrollwork.

arched windows facing the hills

Last but definitely not least, we have this hillside home with tall arched windows and a sprawling patio. I love the illuminated steps beside the pool!

There’s a dining area on the left and a circle of chairs around the fire pit on the right. If you have room, try separating your outdoor dining and lounging areas in a similar way.
