20 Small Bathroom Interior Design Ideas With Pretty Colors and Clever Details

Looking for small bathroom interior design ideas that aren’t just white walls and a tiny sink? Think green tiles, oversized flowers or a little gold-colored hardware.

These bathrooms give you plenty to choose from, including narrow shower rooms and little toilet nooks.

You can keep things simple or go all out with pattern. I especially love the colorful shower walls.

There are also smaller details worth saving, like a shelf above the sink or a mirror with an unexpected shape.

Small bathroom ideas worth saving

green tiles and a round mirror

We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous green sink nook. I love the narrow vertical tiles behind the oversized round mirror.

The white bowl sink looks so pretty against that black countertop.

Try a floating vanity with a brown grain pattern if you want to follow this look. Keep the front simple so those green tiles get their moment.

navy shower and patterned floor

How pretty is this blue bathroom? The dark navy shower tiles and blue-and-white floor give you two different ways to bring in the color.

The little botanical prints above the toilet are worth saving too. Pick a pair with blue details if you want to carry the same colors onto a plain wall.

aqua tiles and a curved showerhead

I am obsessed with this aqua shower. The square tiles vary from pale green-blue to deeper shades, with a curved gold-tone showerhead in front.

The dark planked ceiling is another lovely detail. If you’re borrowing just the color combination, try aqua tiles beside simple beige walls.

checkerboard floor and deep green

If you love a bathroom with lots of little details, this one is for you. There’s a shaped mirror, gold-tone sink legs and even a hanging plant.

My favorite part is the black-and-white checkerboard floor with that deep green shower. I’d keep the white walls around it just like this.

sage panels and a glowing vanity

This vanity may just be one of my favorites here. I love the sage horizontal panels behind the round mirror, plus the narrow ridges across the brown cabinet.

The light underneath leaves a golden glow around the towel basket. Consider under-vanity lighting if you’re planning a similar floating setup.

oversized colorful flowers

Who says a tiny toilet room has to be plain? These oversized pink, orange and yellow flowers are so much fun.

Keep the side walls white if you want to try a bold floral wall like this. The little framed flower print is a cute extra touch without repeating the whole colorful pattern.

a little shelf above the toilet

Don’t want to go all out with color? No problem! This narrow nook sticks to beige, white and a little greenery.

The lit shelf above the toilet holds folded towels and a potted plant. A single leaf print above it finishes the wall without squeezing in more shelves.

a sliding doorway panel

This is a different detail to save: a large grain-patterned sliding door with a matching panel above the opening. Inside, there’s a white cylindrical sink against tiny pale tiles.

If a swinging door gets in your way, ask whether a sliding setup could suit your layout. You’ll need clear wall space beside the opening.

speckled tiles and an arched mirror

I love this speckled floor continuing into the shower. The brown, black and pale flecks look so good beside the beige vertical tiles.

The black-framed arched mirror is pretty on its own. Add round white wall lights on either side if you want to follow the same pairing.

a shelf over the pedestal sink

Working with a pedestal sink and hardly any counter space? This little ledge is a lovely idea to bring to your bathroom plans.

It sits beneath a tall arched mirror with a soap bottle and a small vase on top. I especially love the brown mirror frame with the gold-tone faucet.

tan shower stripes and little shelves

This is such a pretty way to keep a bathroom neutral. Narrow tan lines cover the shower walls beside white surfaces with gray veining.

The two brown shelves above the toilet are my favorite little addition. Try folded white towels on one and a small framed picture on the other.

recessed shelves with rolled towels

If you’re looking for bathroom storage inspo, save this one. Rolled towels sit beside bottles and jars across three recessed shelves.

I love the light at the top of the niche. To borrow the styling for shelves you already have, group your towels on one side and toiletries on the other.

pink tiles and a sage wall

How cute is this pink and green pairing? The glossy pink shower tiles look gorgeous next to the sage wall and gold-tone round mirror.

The white bowl sink has little vertical ridges too. There’s plenty going on already, so I’d stick to plain towels if you’re trying this mix.

a curved corner vanity

This corner sink is just too cute. I love the curved brown cabinet front with its narrow ridges and little gold-tone knobs.

The mirror fits into the corner above it while a separate wall shelf holds bottles. If you have an awkward corner, this is a layout worth discussing before choosing a standard rectangular vanity.

a skylight over the shower

Don’t want lots of patterns or bright colors? This pale bathroom keeps things simple with a floating vanity, mirrored cabinets and a long lit shower niche.

The skylight is the detail I love most. Those olive-green towels are also a lovely color choice if you want a smaller change.

navy from walls to toilet

I am obsessed with this all-navy nook. Even the toilet follows the color scheme, with glossy rectangular tiles wrapping around the lower walls.

The gold-tone accessories and oval mirror stand out so nicely against the blue. Keep a white hand towel if you like that little break from the dark colors.

blue-green herringbone shower

This shower wall may be narrow, but the blue-green herringbone pattern is gorgeous. The pale recessed niche runs across the tiles with a little light tucked along its top.

I also love the small round sink on its separate ledge. The open gap beneath it leaves the gold-tone plumbing on show.

pale green tiles and trailing plants

Here’s another green bathroom, but this one takes a lighter approach. Pale vertical tiles cover the walls, with a trailing plant beside the tall rounded mirror.

The little shower bench is a nice detail too. For a smaller styling change, try folded cream towels beside a white bowl sink like the ones here.

olive sink and a wavy mirror

How adorable is this wavy mirror? The thick brown frame looks so pretty above the olive-green sink.

I love that the walls stay green too, with narrow tiles below and a plain finish above. Choose a striped hand towel if you want a little pattern without adding another color.

beige tiles and open towel storage

Last but definitely not least, we have this lovely beige bathroom. The speckled bowl sink and long brown vanity are such a pretty pairing.

There’s open storage below for rolled towels and baskets, plus little shelves beside the mirror. If you’re following this look, keep your displayed towels in similar pale shades.
